The holidays are happening on Virginia’s Eastern Shore!

From Festive Fridays to cookie trails to parades and markets, we have been celebrating the holidays in Eastern Shore style and getting into the holiday spirit. There is still time for you to jump in and enjoy all of the festivities! Can’t make it out this year? Inspire your 2023 holiday adventures and check out all the fun below!

  • Enjoy incredible holiday music by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra in Cape Charles

  • Enjoy hot cocoa and festive treats while strolling around Cape Charles for Festive Fridays
  • Take a wagon ride during the Brownsville Holiday Open House

The Museum of Chincoteague Island will host their annual Christmas Tree Village in the Legacy Pavilion on Friday, December 16 & Saturday December 17 from 5pm-8pm with Gingerbread House crafts. Trees are decorated by local residents and businesses. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite tree. This is a fun and festive fundraiser for the Museum of Chincoteague and a great excuse for you to come out and celebrate the holidays with us. For more information call the Museum at 757-336-6117.

Exmore businesses are hosting and Old-Fashioned Christmas on December 15, 2022. Come prepared to shop, socialize, eat and listen to music!

Arts Enter presents Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s Holiday Brass, at the Historic Palace Theatre. Bold sounds of the Virginia Symphony brass section will ring in the holidays with a blast! The audience will experience the festive sounds of the season in a concert filled with wit, virtuosity, and the glorious music of the holidays—featuring the VSO brass and percussion sections in an all-new program. Patrons will enjoy music from a variety of styles that have made this concert a new holiday tradition! Tickets are available at the Lemon Tree Gallery or on the Arts Enter Cape Charles website. Along the driveway to the historic Ker Place mansion, enjoy Christmas trees decorated by local organizations and individuals from around the Shore! You can enjoy this display by car or by foot. During the day, explore the inside of the museum and enjoy the historically inspired Christmas decorations throughout the property.

Festive Fridays in Cape Charles

Celebrate a coastal holiday in historic Cape Charles! The final day for Festive Fridays this year is December 16th from 5 – 8pm. Activities for the evening include half-price appetizers at Salt and Sand Family Restaurant, a live nativity scene at Voiajer, crafting stations at Coldwell Banker Harbor Realty, Travis Family music at Gull Hummock, and more!

Everyone is invited to The Nature Conservancy’s Holiday Open House at Brownsville Preserve in Nassawadox on Thursday, December 15th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Bring your family and friends for wagon rides around the preserve for the first couple hours and holiday cheer by the campfire all evening long. Tour the historic Brownsville home, visit with Nature Conservancy staff and volunteers, and warm up with goodies like apple cider and homemade treats.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. We hope you’ll join us December 15th!
