Crockett Art Gallery

Crockett Gallery

39 Market Street Onancock, VA 23417

The artist, Willie Crockett, was born and raised on Tangier Island. Fishing, hunting waterfowl, and roaming the marshes of the Chesapeake Bay were an integral part of his growing up years that would later inspire his incredible works. He painted with the strength of a life-long intimate knowledge of the marshes, waterways, animals, and people of Virginia’s Eastern Shore. His paintings are recognized as among the most honest portrayals of Chesapeake Bay’s drama and beauty. An occasional easy transition into colorful abstracts and flowers speaks for the versatility of the painter and sensitivity of the man.
