About

Join the Nature Bus as it embarks on a land and sea wildlife refuge immersion on the Eastern Shore of Virginia at Cape Charles. Unplug from the stresses of daily life and reconnect with the local natural surroundings. Stroll through the Eastern Shore Wildlife Refuge and enliven the senses in search of Ospreys, warblers and woodcocks. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the great outdoors and then transition to natures rhythm on the water as we launch from Wise Point Boat Launch with an easy paddleboard down Bear Creek Reservoir and Ocmulgee River.

Embrace the surprises of nature during the paddleboard by searching for the diverse turtle population including leatherback, green turtle, Atlantic hawksbill, and rarest of all the Kemp’s Ridley.

Demystify paddleboarding and embrace the ease and freedom of paddling seated, kneeling or standing. Each traveler receives their own paddleboard, paddle and life jacket. Enjoy group instruction from FloatandFlowVa’s experienced paddleboard instructors on how to launch and land safely, forward and turn strokes and enjoy the freedom of movement. Paddleboards are wider than standard walkway’s at 3 feet wide. Because of the increased board width are very easy to sit, kneel or stand.

Hop back onto the air conditioned bus, as we head to Cape Charles Brewing Co for a short stop and a refreshing beer (or other cold drink).
