July 21, 2026 • 5:30 pm

Upper Shore

Laura Smith will share her research on two captivating men who shaped the Chesapeake! Discover how Robert Morris, Sr. transformed Oxford, Maryland from a quiet outpost into a bustling international trade hub, only to meet a tragic, bizarre end. His son, Robert Morris, Jr. used the lessons and legacy form his father to become known as the "Financier of the American Revolution" and one of the rare, few revolutionaries to sign all three of our nation's founding documents. Learn about the maritime and trade networks and shared history between Oxford and the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
