100% local.
What comes to mind when you think of a local event? Do you think of farms, arts, celebrations, community?

After leaving an event that she did flowers for one day, Kate was struck with inspiration. She wanted to not only do events in the community but do events about the community. She wanted to create an event that was truly local in every sense of the word – from the location to the food to the decorations. Something that was more than just having a good time. She wanted to build something that brought the community together.

It was at that moment that Meet at the Table was born.

Kate’s vision was for a 100% local event. But how can you accomplish this on our peninsula? With a little hard work, research, and networking, Kate has done it. Everything you see, taste, and enjoy is produced locally by local farmers and businesses.

Kate runs a local business herself, Chatham Flower Farm. They focus on sustainable farming while enriching the community of the Eastern Shore. The farm dates back to the 1600s and is the perfect setting for an event that brings the Shore together.

The event started in 2018 and has become a mainstay in the community each year. This year, Meet at the Table will benefit two local farmers directly this year, Perennial Roots Farm of Accomac and Seaside Coops Farm of Birdsnest, and of course features businesses around the Shore including Love + Rosemary, Chatham Vineyards, and Black Narrows. The event features the entire Shore, bringing people from both Accomack and Northampton counties to the table of the beautiful farm.

While the dinner is different each year, the aesthetic remains the same. Every dinner is beautifully put together and of course, features incredible flowers by Chatham Flower Farm.

Come, meet at the table, and learn from our local farmers as you partake in a truly Shore experience.
