BIRDING EASTERN SHORE PRESENTS: Chincoteague Waterfowl and More
Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge

FIELD TRIP HIGHLIGHTS: Join expert birders Gary Smith and Helen Belencan for a guided tour of the Wildlife Loop and Woodland Trail in the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. These trails offer an amazing array of birdlife. We’ll be looking for American Woodcock shortly after sundown, so bring a late afternoon snack if you think you might need a little something before we stop for a well-deserved beverage and Famous Pizza at the end of the day.

FIELD TRIP GUIDES: Gary Smith and Helen Belencan.

WHEN: Saturday January 18, beginning at 2:00 p.m. – dusk.

LOCATION: Meet at Queen’s Sound Landing, 37286 Chincoteague Rd. Horntown VA 23395. Birders will caravan from there to the Wildlife Refuge.

An Entrance Fee or Park Pass is required to enter Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.

Other than the Entrance Fee or Park Pass, the Program is free, all new birders and the public are invited to attend. Come prepared for unpredictable January weather.

Please text Gary and Helen at 803.292.6883 to let them know you are planning to attend, and so they can update you of any possible weather-related changes.
