Ker Place, Eastern Shore of Virginia’s Historical Society

Area: Middle Shore

About

The Virginia Historic Landmarks Commission has called Ker Place "one of the Shore's major architectural landmarks" and has described it as "the finest and most elaborate Federal mansion on Virginia's Eastern Shore." Docents lead tours of prominent merchant farmer John Shepherd Ker's home with its rich colors, detailed plasterwork, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The mansion acts as a cultural center for programs, camps, and workshops, and also may be rented for special occasions.
