Refuge TREK Bus Tours - 09/20/2024

The tickets will be $20 per seat. We have seating for 14 passengers. Two of which can be wheel chairs. Wheel chair locks will allow us to accommodate your personal wheel chair. And we will be observing Virginia Public Transportation requirements. If you have a child that is required to be in a car seat in your vehicle, they will also be required to be in a car seat on the bus. Sorry, no lap children. Each occupied seat will be charged the ticket fee.

Specifics -

The driver/interpreter will be able to answer questions, and provide information on the Refuge and what you'll be seeing.

The ride is scripted and has a specific route to follow

At the driver's discretion, a stop may be made to provide viewing and photographic opportunities.

Bring your water and bug spray.

After leaving the Bateman Visitor Center (VC), all passengers must remain on the bus, unless there is a stop or photo op. Then passengers must re-board the bus for the return trip to the VC. Picking up walkers will not be allowed.

Please plan for your visit accordingly. The Trek trips will leave as close to on schedule a we possibly can. We'll not be waiting a half hour for someone who is late.

Although the probability of seeing some of the North Pony Herd is likely, it is not the sole purpose of the Refuge Trek. This is a service being provided to visitors interested in seeing a large portion of the Refuge that is not normally open to driving.
